August is PowerPack month!
If you stop in at the Here’s Life Inner City warehouse, you’ll see
stacks of various school supplies like paper, pencils, notebooks, crayons,
backpacks, and most importantly, scripture material. The packing will begin in just a couple
weeks.
Once they are ready to go, the PowerPacks will be picked up
by 89 church partners who will offer them to 7000 children in their Twin City
neighborhoods. This same outreach will be happening in HLIC cities around
America! This practical expression of
God’s love opens doors to talk with thousands of moms, dads and children about
the most amazing expression of His love, Jesus Christ!
Each church partner has unique plans for their distribution
of the Packs. Some will host picnics,
others offer them as part of their Vacation Bible School, some personally visit new
families in the neighborhood to welcome them and invite them to church. SAY Yes Centers use them to introduce
children to their after-school programs.
Whatever their method, each one is blessing children with the tools they
need for the new school year and with the gospel!
