We have a bedroom in our home that is known as the Boys Room. We mostly keep the door closed, so the girls don't get into things they shouldn't. In that room is a crib, with bedding ready and waiting, and a glider rocking chair, and an empty dresser, and a little kiddie sized table and chairs. And on the wall are photos of real little boys in real orphanges in the East African country where our little boy waits for a daddy and momma to come and bring him home. I found these photos and bios on various websites of various orphanges:

I rarely go into the Boys Room -mostly to protect my heart from longing too much for the child God has for us. Tonight I went to look at the photos, and to wonder "who" will be my son (likely none of the boys currently on our wall). On the internet there are stats that estimate as many as 2 million orphans in our son's home country. That is too many for my mind and heart to grasp. But looking into the bright eyes of the boys on this wall helps to remind me that the orphan crisis is real, and fatherlessness is real, and HOPE is real too.
We still need to see some paperwork completed, and we still need to gather lots more monies, but we know that God has called us to participate with Him in being His hands and feet to a boy needing a family - and we are speechless at the honor we've been given to adopt.
Hold on, little boy, Daddy and Momma love you. We long for you. You belong, you are wanted, and we are doing what we can to get to you.
