Tonight we made tacos and fixings for a crowd of hungry jr high boys. It's the first annual Man Up! Retreat for young men involved in our SAY Yes Center after school programs. There's just something fragile, adorable, humorous about this age of boys... They arrived with their duffle bags, and some were even sheepish and quiet - until they say the GYM! At one point, LouLou asked me to walk into the gym with her. Go figure, she was hesitant to go alone - seeing there were footballs, basketballs, and soccer balls all airborne simultaneously!
Please pray for these young men, and their mentors, this weekend. They are in for quite a treat. Many will learn about Jesus and His love for them, in a concrete way that may change the course of their lives. Wow, we've got a cool job. We just get to show up and watch God work!
