Whoa, Boy!

When Ruby woke from her nap this afternoon, Dave was just stopping by our apartment with a couple of the college students to pick up some things before tonight's meeting. Ruby poked her head out of the bedroom, and saw REAL LIVE college students in our family room. She gasped, then ran around the bedroom saying "Whoa Boy! Whoa Boy!" almost too excited to come out and greet them =-)Tonight after eating 60+ pizzas, and listening to an overview of the project, the students split into Men's Time and Women's Time. The staff and student women had a great time of jumping into some deep heart issues right away, and praying for one another. I'm really grateful for the way the project leadership team is working to create an environment of safe, and emotionally healthy authenticity. I know God brought each participant to this project not just to impact New York City, and the people here, but also to do a deep work in each of our own hearts as well. It was so exciting to sit with these dear student tonight and get to know them a little. Makes me even more glad to be here serving with them. I hope and pray that some day my daughters will have friends like these students...And on another note...the sun roof of our apartment building gives us great views of mid-town Manhattan, and our next door neighbor: the Empire State Building.
