Tonight we gathered at my parents house with the extended family to celebrate Joshua's birthday (and Joseph's too). Joshua's birthday is today, and Joe's was this past July...and we never had an official extended family party for Joseph because his birthday landed during our ministry staff conference - so we figured we'd catch 'em both on a date in the fall, and then the fall flew by and we decided to just cover both birthdays at once (for this year at least).
Sadie Lou and I made from-scratch cakes for the boys. They were dry and even crusty around the edges (oops) but the boys loved having their own cakes.
